Join us on Tuesday, September 29 for a hands-on dyeing workshop as we prepare for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 
 
The orange shirt is a symbol of the experiences of Indigenous children, families, and communities affected by the residential school system, and a reminder that Every Child Matters. Ahead of Orange Shirt Day (September 30), the FOFA Gallery, in collaboration with the Indigenous Futures Research Centre (IFRC) and the Textiles & Materialities Research Cluster invite the Concordia community to come together to learn, reflect, and create. 
 
Led by artist Abby Maxwell, this workshop will introduce participants to the process of natural fabric dyeing using cosmos plants. Participants will also engage in a discussion about the history and significance of Orange Shirt Day and the Day for Truth and Reconciliation  

This event is by donation and open to the Concordia community. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.  

All dyeing materials and shirts will be provided (limited sizes and quantities available).  

All proceeds will go directly to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society (IRSSS). 

Space is limited and registration is required!
