Indigenous Futures Research Centre Annual Symposium 2024

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

This second iteration of the Indigenous Futures Research Center (IFRC) Annual Research Symposium will center around IFRC-related research engaging Indigenous communities and knowledges. The Symposium will feature presentations and dialogues by faculty and students from across the university previewing the projects they have planned for the next few years. We are curious to hear IFRC members share what projects they have in the works: from published papers to artworks in progress, to research in their initial stages. The format of the Symposium will be open-ended as we encourage IFRC members to share their research, as well as their performance and creative-based initiatives with the IFRC community and the broad public. Hosted by 4th Space, a public venue, the Symposium’s presentations will be recorded and livestreamed online. If your presentation touches on sensitive topics and you would prefer it not to be recorded, let us know ahead of time and we will make necessary arrangements. We invite IFRC members to participate by presenting their work in whichever form best suits them. We encourage 15-minute slide presentations but welcome a range of alternative approaches, including performances, screenings, or other creative outputs.

This year’s symposium will take place at Concordia’s 4th Space on January 25 & 26, 2024. Presentation spots are limited and are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
