Virtual Talk: Redefining Digital Inclusion from Peru to the World

On February 26, 2026, Mathias Becerra Sanchez presented a virtual talk, "Redefining Digital Inclusion from Peru to the World.”

Mathias is a student from Peru currently pursuing a major in Symbolic Systems in the Concentration of Human-Centered AI and Human-Computer Interaction at Stanford University. His work focuses on using technology to empower Indigenous and other digitally disadvantaged languages both in Peru and Latin America. In this talk, he presented his research on STEM education, linguistics, and policy in globally disadvantaged language communities.

The presentation was moderated by Hanss Lujan Torres, Research Coordinator at the Indigenous Futures Research Centre (IFRC). Hanss is a writer, curator, and researcher from Cusco, Peru, whose work focuses on collective time-making, alternative understandings of time, and dissident futures.
